Well regeneration in Ghana

Well regeneration in Ghana

Nearly every village in Ghana has 5 – 10 water supply wells available. But only one or two of them are still in use due to low water pressure. The boreholes are out of order as a result of calcification and sedimentation that plug the wells. Therefore the RG Bayreuth has formed a cooperation with RG Rottenburg and the Watercomittee (an association of TeoG-members in Ghana), in order to improve the drinking water supply in the communities. For now, the focus of the project are villages in the Ashanti and Brong Ahafro Region. With this Project we like to improve the access to water. In order to do so, we plan to regenerate wells.
